GLITCH
Videoworlds from the past, paths still to be rewritten.

A single path that will take you back through videoworlds of a distant past, still full of paths waiting to be rewritten.

There is a place where games end up when nobody plays them anymore. A world from 1996, frozen. Waiting.

He was never meant to be there. He came from a new game, the kind where light caresses every surface and the grass bends in the wind. Then, an error. A glitch. He had fallen into an old game: a forgotten tomb, built with every polygon counted.

To get back home, he will have to play this game. By its rules. The old-fashioned way.

WHAT AWAITS YOU

  • A PS1-style world, with fog, grainy textures and trembling polygons, and a sharp modern hero who is the only thing out of place in it.
  • A tomb with three wings: a shaft to climb through crumbling platforms and ledges; a hall of gears and levers; a corridor of traps and a boulder chasing you.
  • Three portal fragments to recover, seven echoes of his world hidden in unexpected places, a secret room for those who master the running dive.
  • A narrator's voice and the hero's thoughts, in Italian and English.
  • And an ending: the way back home.

LENGTH: about 20 minutes the first time; longer if you hunt for every echo.

CONTROLS (keyboard and mouse, or a gamepad)

  • Move: WASD / left stick · Camera: mouse / right stick
  • Jump: Space / A · Sprint: hold Shift / L3 · Walk: Ctrl
  • Running dive: Q / B (while sprinting)
  • Action (levers, portal): E / X · Pause: Esc / Start
  • Hanging from a ledge: sideways to shimmy, towards the wall to climb up, away from the wall to let go.

HOW TO START: extract the zip anywhere and double-click GLITCH.exe. Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" because the game isn't signed: "More info" → "Run anyway".

REQUIREMENTS: 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a graphics card with OpenGL 3.3, about 170 MB of disk space. Tested on an older PC (Intel i5-3470, NVIDIA GTX 750): it runs smoothly.

LANGUAGE: Italian and English; the game follows your Windows language.

PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING: the ending contains a single, brief bright flash; the title logo has an occasional small colored glitch.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: the main character model was generated with Meshy AI (CC BY 4.0) and animated with Mixamo; the voices are AI-generated (Piper, Paola voice, CC0 dataset; Kokoro-82M, Apache 2.0); the ending music was composed in tandem with Claude (Anthropic); the tomb textures are AI-generated (Google Gemini); the English translation and the code were written with the help of Claude (Anthropic). Story, Italian texts, art direction and decisions: Valerio Barbagallo.

CREDITS: a game by Valerio Barbagallo — Zero-G Studio. Story and tagline: Zero-G Studio. Developed with Godot Engine (MIT license), in tandem with Claude (Anthropic). Sky, meadow and bark of the final world: Poly Haven (CC0).

GLITCH

In attesa.

  • Muoversi: WASD / levetta sinistra · Camera: mouse / levetta destra
  • Salto: Spazio / A · Scatto: Shift tenuto / L3 · Camminare: Ctrl
  • Tuffo in corsa: Q / B (mentre scatti)
  • Azione (leve, portale): E / X · Pausa: Esc / Start

Storia, testi in italiano, direzione artistica e scelte: Valerio Barbagallo.

CREDITI: un gioco di Valerio Barbagallo — Zero-G Studio. Narrativa e tagline: Zero-G Studio. Sviluppato con Godot Engine (licenza MIT), in tandem con Claude (Anthropic). Cielo, prato e corteccia del mondo finale: Poly Haven (CC0).
